Little Thief’s

I absolutely love it when I have visitors while out in the country, I’m not talking about the two-legged characters of my own species.

I have on several occasions had little creatures visit while I am fishing along the river bank of a quiet peaceful river or stream, they think I don’t know they are near and are being very sneaky about what they are doing.

The first sign of their presence is usually when I notice that something unusual is occurring along the riverbank, particularly around the trout that I have lain out on the bank near my packsack.

I spot three little mink and they are very busy. I pretend that I am not aware of their presence, nor, that my fish are beginning to vanish. I love it as they are scurrying about thinking that I don’t see them carrying off my fish one by one.

They have hit the jackpot and are taking full advantage of their good luck. I have also hit the jackpot because this is why I am out here in Mother Natures backyard. She has blessed me with the company of her children on numerous occasions, therefore, I appreciate it when I get the opportunity to provide them with a little help at times, that’s the reward I get and live for.
