Flaming Skies

After arriving back at my truck late one evening  from a very enjoyable trip on the Croche River in Labrador, I prepared a light lunch before heading on the road back to Wabush. As I was progressing along the road and the sun had gone down, the sky began to come alive.

It was totally amazing, light was dancing all across the sky like fire in every colour of the rainbow. It was totally mystical and spiritual, I had no choice but to stop and admired the splendor being displayed before my very eyes.

Labrador is one of the best places I have encountered such awesome views of the aurora borealis, it is without a doubt one of the finest places on Earth to enjoy this great natural phenomenon. If you ever have the opportunity to travel the north and camp in a nice remote location with no artificial lights to spoil the show, you will fully appreciate this splendor.

I have found as with in Northern Manitoba that anywhere between the 50^th and 60^th parallels you will find the best viewing of the Northern Lights. When I lived in Thompson, Manitoba the lights were fantastic, but there is no taking it away from the Northern Lights of Labrador. That is why I created “Flaming Skies”.
