Journey Begins

The “Journey Begins” is a portrait about how my adventures start, I often choose to travel to the furthest point of my trip via beaver float plane. Labrador is a bushman’s paradise, full of lakes and rivers as far as you have time to venture.

I always plan my trips to areas that I have never had the opportunity to travel to, and at times a repeat trip to areas that really caught my spirit and the call to return is too great to resist.

Flying over the countryside via float plane is truly one of my greatest pleasures, I always looked forward to these trips, never knowing what lay ahead of me. Flying is truly one of my greatest pleasures but not the greatest, I have to say that the return trips via canoe on the waterways and the portages along with camping out so far from fellow creatures of my kind, absolutely as been the most adventurous experiences a person could yearn for.

Each trip is always so different and at the same time exactly the same, challenging adventures are always only a heartbeat away. The countryside is always fascinating, the cruising down a beautiful river or lake will capture the heart of any adventurer. There is always an abundance of wildlife around you and fishing to rival any place in this great northland of ours.

I often would drop into a fishing lodge along the way and enjoy talking with other fishermen who would be astonished at a lone traveler in these great lands.
