This portrait is of a Mama wolf and her pups of which I watched for quite a while during  one of my trips. The mountains were beautiful in the distance, combined with the wolf family, it was a beautiful, fabulous scene.
It was very satisfying to see them enjoying life in such a playful manner and watch as they enjoyed the fish that I left for them. Amazingly they never seemed threatened by my presence in the distance.
I spent several days in this area, doing some amateur prospecting, one of my hobbies that I enjoyed during my travels. I had numerous opportunities to sit at a distance to observe this family without disturbing them. Wolves are truly amazing creatures, perhaps my favorite animal to observe in the wild. I would sit for countless hours being amazed by them.
These creatures often have very difficult times trying to survive, I always help them when I have the opportunity. I like to think it is just repayment for the pleasure I receive from watching them. This is a portrait to honor and to share them.
