Speckle Rapids

During my years of traveling the wilderness of Labrador I have accumulated numerous very exciting memories. I can say without hesitation that some of my favorite memories are earned while on the rivers fishing the back country miles from any community.

I like to think that this is where I go to recharge my batteries after dealing with the modern-day world during the course of earning a living. The quite solitude, the slower pace of living; where time is of no consequence except for when I have to return back to the rushed pace of the competition of our wild civilization.

There have been some really extraordinary situations where I have hooked into a very challenging fish, some were successful in achieving their freedom but others succumbed to my superior skills and quite often I would relent and grant them their freedom back again.

Actually, I always received a lot of satisfaction from being able to release these fantastic fighters back to be caught again, and hopefully it would be me again having the rematch with these magnificent creatures from the depths of the dark pools.

I would always promise myself that a return trip would be in the cards to this most amazing country and the streams and rivers of Labrador where I had stored so many fabulous memories to look back upon, as I would go where all my fellow explorers before me have gone. This portrait is to share the thrill of being out there.
