Busy Beavers

You have just finished a day of exploring and have returned to your camp site, then while preparing to cook supper you notice that you have visitors. A colony of beavers are busy in the pond. One was repairing their house and another is storing food for the Winter, and there is another working on the dam.

You cannot help but be hypnotized and fascinated by the show playing out in front of you, that’s when you realize you are exactly where you want to be, out in wild enjoying what nature has to offer.

Mother nature has an endless store of entertainment available for the viewing, who needs television when there is always drama and action going on all around you, it is never ending!

I remember as a child on the banks of the Exploits and the Red Indian Rivers near Badger, the town where I grew up in Newfoundland, how I would spend hours quietly moving through the Alders to catch a glimpse of the wildlife that may be near. There were always moose, bears, rabbits, ducks, beaver and many other creatures living and moving up and down the shores of these rivers. It was truly a paradise for a young lad to grow up in, dull moments were few. This portrait is a shared memory. Enjoy!
